Perrysburg Global Summit The Global Understanding Summit is a FREE COMMUNITY EVENT for community citizens, organizations and businesses to educate, encourage, respect, accept and celebrate diversity in our community. The Global Summit will be held at Perrysburg Junior High School on February 4, 2010 from 5:00-9:00pm. Please return registration form by December 4, 2009. Booth Sponsors **For more information contact Bill Hilt at Perrysburg Junior High bhilt at perrysburgschools.net, or see our page on Facebook*** So you want to celebrate diversity in our community by showcasing your global connections, but you?re not quite sure what to do? You, your group, family or business can decide the best way to help bring this event to life. We encourage everyone to be as creative as possible, but here are some examples of what may be seen. Family Booth: Families may decide to highlight their global connections by having a table with pictures, presentation boards, slide shows, heirlooms, artifacts or souvenirs that highlight culture, ethnicity, travel, mission work etc. Faith Groups: Has your group done mission work abroad or have global ties you wish to highlight? Would you like to share more with the community about your group? Tables with presentation boards, pictures, videos and literature would be just a start. Can you kick it up with some traditional dress or music? Clubs and organizations: Has your club sent people overseas or hosted groups here? Tell everyone about it with displays, pictures, itineraries, news articles and publicity clips. Tell how these relationships have continued to flourish. Business: Businesses of all sizes should show off their global reach. Show us how you compete in a global market. Prepare some information sheets for students to highlight what global competency skills they would need to work for your company. Send a human resources person to give mock interview questions highlighting global competence. College or University: Have a booth featuring international students highlighting the diversity available on local campuses. Authenticate it with traditional garb and language. Provide literature so local families can get involved with international student groups and event. Graduates: Did you graduate from Perrysburg and then go on to develop global connections? Tell us about your experiences in business, education, mission work, or travel. Give advice to students on preparing for global competence. Music/Dance/Theater: Sign up for a time slot to perform in the auditorium and show off your international or cultural talents? Cornucopia: So you have global connections or ideas that don?t exactly fit the descriptions? No problem, we will help make it work. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
